What are the opening hours for the branch?

Apollo Motorhome Holidays are open 6 days a week - Monday - Saturday from 09:00 - 17:00 except on closed days as outlined on each branch page.

Do you allow pickup or drop off outside of branch hours?

Pickup is between 15:00 - 17:00 and drop off is between 09:00 – 11:00. Collection between 5pm and 7pm and return between 7am and 9am must be pre-arranged and will incur an additional €60 fee. Additional fees apply outside these hours and there is no refund for late pick-up or early drop-off of the RV.

Pick up & drop off times as shown in the rental agreement are binding. On Saturdays collection & return are only possible by prior arrangement & will incur an additional charge of €60.

What type of Driver Licence do I need?

On pick up of the vehicle a full (non provisional) and valid driver's licence held for 2 years minimum must be presented in person by all people wishing to drive the vehicle. If your driver's licence is not in the Roman alphabet (i.e. if it is in Arabic, Greek, Cyrillic or Chinese) you are required to bring an International Driving Permit and your domestic licence.

For driving licenses from countries not part of the international driving license treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license. When renting within the EU, customers who do not hold a driving licence issued by an EU or EEA country or a Swiss licence, must also present an International Driving Permit along with their domestic licence.

Do all drivers have to be in the branch at pick up?

All drivers are required to show their Driver Licence to the branch in person prior to driving the vehicle and must be listed on the Rental Agreement and sign the agreement to permit them to drive.

Do I need to supply all driver details?

We encourage you to enter all driver details online through our Pre-registration link prior to pick up. You will need your Reservation/Booking Reference and the surname of the booking. You are not required to enter passenger details, only drivers.

How old do I have to be to drive a Motorhome?

Drivers must be 21 years of age or over.

What if I have penalty points or fines on my licence?

It is still possible to hire a campervan if you have penalty points on your licence.

You must declare at the time of booking if there are any endorsements on your driving licence. Apollo Motorhomes may not be able to provide cover for you to drive the vehicle if you have certain endorsements imposed on your driving licence. Failure to declare any accidents or driving convictions invalidates insurance.

We are unable to offer driver insurance if driver has had their driving licence endorsed or suspended or more than 6 penalty points imposed.

How old are your vehicles?

All of our vehicles in Europe are less than one years old.

Can I request a specific layout or vehicle length?

When you book with Apollo Motorhomes Europe, you book a category of vehicle. Whilst we endeavour to provide you with the listed vehicles, some layout or model differences may occur due to availability and therefore specific layouts or lengths cannot be guaranteed.

Do I have to pay for kilometres travelled?

All vehicles come with unlimited kilometres.

Do I need to pay for fuel?

We operate a full-to-full policy, meaning we provide you with a full fuel tank and expect it to be returned full. If it is not, an additional charge will be applied.

What is the weight of the vehicle?

All vehicles are from 3000kg up to a maximum weight of 3500kg.

Can I bring my bike?

Bike Racks are currently fitted to all of our campervans and motorhomes as standard.

Are pets allowed in the vehicle?

Service animals can travel in Apollo motorhomes and campervans with prior permission from our team.

Apollo offers one vehicle type as a pet friendly vehicle, the Family Voyager. Domestic pets may be carried only following express written consent of Apollo in specially designed vehicles equipped with permissible safety devices/installations to be provided by the guest. An authorization charge of €7.50 per animal per day will apply.

The guest is solely responsible for ensuring compliance with the corresponding animal protection, carriage, vaccination and transit/entry requirements. Carriage of domestic pets will require an additional special cleaning charge of €200.

Is ISOFIX fitted in the vehicles?

Vehicles do not have ISOFIX installed. Child seats are available as a hireable extra and these are fitted using the existing seatbelt.

Will my vehicle be Automatic or Manual transmission?

All vehicles are currently manual transmission only.

How long do the batteries last?

Our vehicles in Europe have three batteries – one to run the engine and twin leisure batteries to operate the living equipment such as the fridge and interior lights.

When you drive the campervan, you will recharge the battery via a trickle charge. You will need to plug the vehicle into 230V mains power for the battery to fully recharge.

What is supplied with the vehicle?

What is Liability Reduction?

Liability means being legally responsible for something. With our vehicles, you are liable up to your chosen liability in the event of an incident or accident, regardless of fault and provided you do not breach the Terms and Conditions of hire. Standard Liability starts at €1,500. Liability reduction allows you to reduce the excess by paying an additional amount added to the daily rental rate. Our reservations team can discuss this further with you before you travel.

How long will it take to check out my vehicle?

We recommend all customers allow at least 1 hour for vehicle pick up and demonstration. Our Customer Service Team will explain the Rental Agreement (RA) and demonstrate how to use the facilities in your motorhome. During peak times your wait time may be longer than expected.

Is there a vehicle demonstration?

Yes, our customer service team will demonstrate the amenities of the vehicle and how to operate the on-board facilities.

Can I purchase hireable extras?

Hireable extras can be purchased at the time of booking or in person at the branch. The full list of hireable extras is available to view when you book.

What payment methods are accepted in branches?

Our branches accept Credit Card or Debit Card. Cash payments are not accepted. Liability/Bond on the vehicle is only payable by Credit Card or Debit Credit Card. The Bond cannot be paid with a pre-paid Credit Card.

What do I need to bring with me to pick up the vehicle?

All drivers must bring their drivers licence and be present at pick up. A credit or debit card must be brought to allow pre-authorisation for your bond/liability.

How do I book my trip?

All bookings for trips are on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability. You can book via the booking bar on the website, or by contacting our reservations team who will be able to assist with any questions and place a booking for you.

How do I pay for my trip?

Online payment is the easiest and most convenient way to book and pay for your campervan or motorhome rental. Our secure payment system ensures that you can pay for your campervan rental online with convenience and peace of mind. Check that your credit card limit/balance covers the cost of the booking otherwise your online booking will fail.

You can also pay over the phone using your credit or debit card, using the same secure payment system used by our website.

Can I make changes to my booking?

At Apollo we understand that sometimes things change.

The following are considered as a booking alteration:

•           Change to pick-up or drop-off dates

•           Change pick-up or drop-off branch location

•           Change of vehicle category

•           Change of rate scheme including special rates

If the rate scheme or vehicle category is changed, it is considered a new booking and cancellation fees may apply to the original booking.

All changes should be made up to 14 nights before the first day of your booking. If there are any last-minute alternations made within 14 nights of pick-up however if the holiday is shortened due to the changes, the number of nights originally booked will be charged for. If the pick-up or drop-off location is altered within 14 nights of pick up, a relocation fee may also apply.

What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period for all campervans and motorhomes is 7 nights. Increased minimum rental periods apply at peak times. During peak rental periods, the minimum rental period is 14 nights.

Do I need to pay for tolls?

All toll payments are the responsibility of the customer. Any missed tolls or fines will be passed on to the customer. 

Are there any restrictions on where I can drive?

We want you to stay safe on your holiday. All rental vehicles must stay on sealed roads. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information about travel restrictions that apply to your chosen vehicle in your country of travel.
